Katie Satterfield

For over 25 years, Katie Satterfield has been involved in cheerleading as an athlete, coach, choreographer, camp instructor, and judge, with her experience ranging from involvement in recreational leagues to high school, all-star and college/open teams.
Katie started cheerleading at 7 years old and cheered on numerous all-star teams and cheered throughout school. She was captain of her high school team and holds countless allstar national championship titles. She went to college at the University of Georgia, where she earned her BSED in health and physical education in 2008. While getting her degree, she cheered on the UGA competition cheer team, winning Cheersport Nationals in collegiate level 6, and placing 4th at NCA collegiate nationals in Daytona in division 1 in 2005 and 2006. She obtained her MS from Georgia Southern University in kinesiology and coaching with a focus in tumbling in 2011 and has been teaching all different subjects all over the state for 10 years. 
Katie has over 10 years of experience as an all-star coach, choreographer, and competition judge. She coached at TNT allstars, Pro Cheer, Emerald City, MGA, and Tumblecheer. Katie has coached for GHSA for 10 years while teaching, and also served as a judge for GISA competition events. She was Macon State College's first coed competition cheerleading coach in 2011-2012. Along with having a BSED in health and physical education and a masters degree in kinesiology, Katie is AACCA and NCSSE safety certified, USASF certified, a part of the USASF credentialing field staff, and first aid/CPR certified. 
Katie is happily married to Daniel Satterfield, and they havetwo beautiful children. Katie is currently an English teacher and the head cheerleading coach at Veterans High School.

Christa Nelson

Christa Conner Nelson has been coaching GHSA Competition Cheer for the past 12 years. Prior to coaching at the GHSA Varsity level, Christa spent 4 years as a middle school competition cheer coach. During her coaching experience, she has advanced to the state competition 11 out of 12 years. She has multiple top three finishes at the GHSA state level and led her squad to the state runner up title in 2017.

She is a 1992 graduate of Hawkinsville High School. She attended Valdosta State University where she received a BSED and MSED in Speech Language Pathology. She also completed her Specialist Degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Administration from NOVA Southeastern University. She has taught in the Pulaski County School System for the past 19 years and is looking forward to joining the staff at Perry Middle School in 2018.

Christa has two children, Cal, age 21, a senior at Georgia Southern University, and Meg, age 17, a dual enrollment student at Hawkinsville High School and Middle Georgia State University.

Miranda Sampson

Miranda is a 2012 graduate of Hawkinsville High School. She first attended Valdosta State University where she became a Phi Mu before transferring to Georgia Southern University in 2014, where she was active in the honors program. In 2017, Miranda finished with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development with an emphasis in Child Life, and a minor in Sociology. In the summer of 2017, she completed an internship in Destin, Florida where she worked with families living through childhood cancer. Miranda is now an Administrative Assistant at Taylor Regional Hospital and strives to work with children in any way she can.
